Without a long lens to zoom right in on the boats I was forced to adopt more of a landscape photography style. This meant shooting in the morning or evening when the light was right, as well as getting in to some unusual spots to find the right angle. This one involved a trek along the waters edge which is only accessible at low tide but I’m happy with the result – if I was shooting from the path behind with everyone else then I’d lose all of the beach and a lot of the water, the lines of which are part of what makes the shot work.
